Daily Update To Families 4/2
Dear Families: As we near the end of Week Three of virtual learning and prepare for our spring recess, which begins on Monday, April 6th, I know that many families are concerned and uncertain about what this time away from school will mean. While this break may look very different than ones in the past, our hope is that our students and families will have some time to pause and recharge from the challenges of shifting to virtual instruction and juggling myriad responsibilities.
DAILY UPDATE TO FAMILIES - 4/1
Dear Families: I am asking all parents to please take a few minutes to complete the attached survey. This survey solicits input from our school community on our virtual instructional plan and will help the district make any necessary changes to enhance students’ learning experiences in a realistic manner.
DAILY UPDATE TO FAMILIES - 3/31
Dear Families: I’m keeping tonight’s message brief since I want to focus on one topic...FLEXIBILITY. We are keenly aware of the stress and tension that home instruction in the virtual environment has created for many families. Administrators are working closely with teachers to adjust the quantity and pacing of instructional lessons to ensure that they are manageable for students and for parents who are supporting their children.
DAILY UPDATE TO FAMILIES - 3/30
Dear Families: I hope that you all found ways to enjoy this past weekend. I know that for so many of our families the last two weeks have been a time of transition, adjusting to the flow of new schedules, juggling jobs while becoming your child’s tutor, and trying to see the light at the end of this tunnel.
DAILY UPDATE TO FAMILIES - 3/27
Dear Families: As I reported in last night’s Daily Update, Governor Murphy has provided guidance to all New Jersey districts that the reopening of schools will not be revisited until at least April 17th. Following his message, Wall Township Schools will be closed until further notice.
DAILY UPDATE TO FAMILIES - 3/26
Dear Families: Governor Murphy announced this week that the State of New Jersey is cancelling all statewide student assessments for the spring 2020 testing window. This includes the springtime administration of the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA), ACCESS for ELLs, and the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) assessment.
DAILY UPDATE TO FAMILIES - 3/25
Dear Families: Countless studies illustrate the myriad benefits of reading - improving imagination, honing verbal abilities, enhancing empathy, reducing stress, and so much more. During a time that our families are inundated with television, radio, and social media updating us hourly on the rise in positive COVID-19 cases, let’s work together to find ways to “unplug” and give our brains a “mental massage” by reading.
